The responsibilities of a Private Investigator are listed as follows:
- Obtain information on crimes or wrongs perpetrated against a person, state or the United States
- Obtain information on the identity, habits, business, occupation, knowledge, efficiency, loyalty, movement, location affiliations, associations, transactions, acts, reputation or character of a person
- Obtain information on the location, disposition, or recovery of lost or stolen property
- Obtain the information on the cause or responsibility for a fire, libel, loss, accident, damage or injury to a person or to property
- Engaging in the business of securing, or accepts employment to secure the evidence for use before a court, board, officer or investigating committee
- Engage in the business of securing, or accepts employment to secure the electronic tracking of the location of an individual or motor vehicle other than for criminal justice purposes by or o behalf of a government entity
- Obtain and analyze computer based data or have an analysis performed on computer based data not available to the public to determine if a crime or crimes have been committed
- Arrest fugitives when working for the surety
Chief of Police/ Atlanta Texas Police Department
May 2016- October-2018
- Directed all activities of the police department
- Planned, coordinated, assigned and reviewed the work product of the department to ensure the efficient and safe completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Met with staff regularly to ensure the efficient operation of the department
- Ensured all department programs and procedures complied with city, state and federal laws and mandates
- Prepared an annual budget
- Monitored the department expenditures throughout the fiscal year
- Formulated policies, procedures and regulations
- Reviewed department operations and implemented changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Monitored and evaluated the job performance of subordinates through annual evaluations
- Monitored the use of the Take Home Vehicle Program to ensure department compliance
- Implemented cost savings programs by purchasing used vehicles from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Vehicle Resale Program rather than purchasing new vehicles yielding cost savings. These vehicles were purchased at less than half of the cost of new vehicles
- Utilized the Federal Government 1033 Program to locate surplus vehicles to be claimed for department use yielding a significant cost savings. Four vehicles were added to the fleet at no costs to the tax payers of Atlanta
- Established and maintained working relationships with other municipal departments, along with state and federal agencies
- Met with civic groups in Atlanta to discuss issues concerning the public
- Met with school and hospital officials and business leaders to discuss active shooter protocols
- Handled personnel issues
- Purchased a department issued M-4 rifle for each officer with the unanimous approval of the city council
- Provided officers with another less lethal force option to save lives. Issued every officer a 12 gauge shotgun classified as a less lethal bean bag launcher ONLY, NO 12 GAUGE LETHAL AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN DEPARTMENT OR IN POSSESSION OF OFFICERS (Shotguns were painted pink in honor of breast cancer awareness)
- Met with detectives to discuss open investigations
- Reviewed requests under the Texas Open Records Act to ensure the proper information is provided and to ensure that protected information is not disclosed
- Rewrote the department policy manual
Texas Ranger/ Texas Department of Public Safety – (Retired after approximately twenty-seven years of service)

- Provided supplemental support to the Executive Protection Bureau of the Texas Department of Public Safety in providing security for the Governor of the State of Texas, Lieutenant Governor of the State of Texas and the Attorney General of the State of Texas
